I figured the beginning of the year was as good a time as any to talk to the Power of the Goal!
One of my fave books – Think and Grow Rich – Napoleon. Hill – also talks about all this great stuff also so I thought I would share a little of my journey with you. Books are a huge part of all journeys I take as I am curious as to what others who have gone before us have figured out already. Building knowledge and perspective broader than your own life helps navigate challenges all over the show.
A great quote from the book that speaks to the topic:
“Goal setting and detailed planning are the basis of every achievement” – Napoleon Hill
I know there are some of you, who like me often think what is the point along with some who will just see it as some form of unjust punishment. So in this short and sweet article we are going to get right to it and see what Step 1 involves in Goal Setting.
Step 1: Identify
Identify things you feel super passionate about. Things that make your feet tingle or have you jump up and down with loud and unabated excitement. Why we want to do this? Because without the driving force of desire and passion we may never achieve our goal simply because it is not something we deem worth fighting for.
Another quote from the master ……
“Weak desires bring weak results, just a small amount of fire brings a small amount of heat” – Napoleon Hill
Write down your list of desires. Just go for it and list things that make you want to explode with happiness. Once you have written them down read your list when you wake up and when you go to sleep. Refine the list. Build the list. Have a free mind when looking to the things that make you smile, laugh and want to live as long as you can to accomplish what you have in front of you.
See you soon with your list for Step 2:
